Hello, friends (or anyone who happened to stumble across this blog)! I am new to the world of blogging, but I wanted to create this blog so that I would have a place to state my opinions and post links to articles of interest without shoving my views down others' throats. I get so irritated when I read people's Facebook statuses that are so one-sided (naturally, I am normally only annoyed when it is the one side that I disagree with), because I feel as though the status might as well have been "Sarah, you are stupid and wrong." OK, that might be exaggerating. But sometimes I do feel as though people post comments and articles pertaining to their views that are offensive to others. I also feel as though sometimes people are not willing to even consider the other side of the coin. So, I plan to post comments and opinions about current political and social issues, and if you don't like or agree with my views, then you won't return to this blog and no harm done!
With that being said, I will go ahead and give readers a warning now.
When it comes to social issues, I am about as liberal as they come. I am a Democrat. However, I do have some views about the economy and the welfare system that might be considered conservative. I am open-minded, but feel pretty strongly about certain things. I understand that other people will disagree with me, and that they will feel equally as strong about their views. I welcome opposing viewpoints and opinions. I am not OK with people posting hateful things about others or making personal attacks just because people have differing opinions. I'll delete any comments made in poor taste. OK - that was my disclaimer.
I will probably also post information about all of the other random things that interest me! Recipes, diet tips, exercises that I don't hate, etc. Feel free to comment or respond with anything related to a post that you think I (or anyone else reading) might like!
Well, there's my intro. I have to do some homework right now, but I will leave you all with a couple of links to some encouraging news stories!
